The St. Johnsbury School District is a PreK through 8th grade public school located in the town of Saint Johnsbury. We have approximately 600 students and approximately 250 employees in this building.
St. Johnsbury School District is adding a new position of a second shift maintenance person to join the team of 7. The purpose of this additional position is performing routine and preventative building maintenance, floor surface maintenance, and general facilities support throughout the school. Although other custodial and facilities staff may be working during the assigned shift, the Building and Floor Maintenance Custodian will work independently much of the time. The position is expected to identify maintenance needs, respond appropriately to assigned work orders, complete repairs within the scope of the position, and communicate issues requiring additional expertise or authorization to the Facilities Director.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on maintenance skills, experience with commercial floor care, and the ability to work effectively in a school environment where safety, cleanliness, and reliable building operations are essential.
When school is in session the position starts at 2:30pm and ends at 11:00pm. During summer break the hours are 6am until 3:30pm. This position is full time (40 hours a week) non-exempt all year long. Pay will be based on knowledge and experience.
